Pendatang

Pendatang (immigrant) is the story of the effects of migration over 150 years. During colonisation of India and Malaya (Malaysia) by the British, indentured labourers were brought from India to work in the rubber plantations of Malaya. Malaysians of Indian ethnicity were brought to Malaysia as indentured labourers to work in rubber plantations by the British. The series is an ongoing research on the effects of systemic racism first by the colonisers and then by the majority in power both in government and private sector. 

It was first exhibited at her solo exhibition in CICA Museum, Seoul, South Korea in September 2024
